Driver Safety

5 Star Medical Transport maintains client and employee SAFETY as a main priority. Our management team continuously dedicates time to developing and maintaining safety measures within the driving department.

Our initial driver training program consists of two days of classroom training and two or three days (depending on their level of experience) of on-the-road training with a senior driver. The training is a combination of sensitivity training, driver safety training, service area familiarity, radio communication, in addition to company and department procedures.

To ensure a safe operation daily, our traffic dispatch department is trained to respond to any driver emergencies that involve vehicle maintenance or incident/accident emergencies.

5 Star Medical Transport has a zero tolerance for unsafe driving. All identified risky driving behavior is followed by official retraining/coaching based on the type of occurrence and disciplinary action when necessary.

SCR prides itself on exceeding the minimum standards set forth by the Commonwealth of Virginia and consistently improves its training program by implementing creative and effective approaches to developing and re-training our drivers.
